Product Regulatory Compliance is applicable at a product level. Selling a product in any big market typically requires a product regulatory approval. Proof of the approval is generally required to be shipped along with the product.

Relevant requirements vary based on a country, industry and technology. These types of requirements may include, but not limited to, Product Safety, Electromagnetic Compatibility, Radio, Telecommunication, Environmental, Quality, Performance etc. Further, these technical requirements can vary from country to country and in total form the rules for global regulatory compliance.

An Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) is required to test its products to conform to the applicable standards mandated by the regulatory authority of a country, and then get an approval before it can start shipping the product to that market.
